Our annual Repertoire Report is hot off the presses with a round up of the repertoire for twenty of America’s top orchestras. It is no surprise to anyone that the total performances of works by women composers is down from last year. The impact of the Trump Administration touches ever corner of Americn life, including orchestral programming.

This playlist includes all of the pieces that are available in the Spotify library - there continues to be many works by women composers, both contemporary and historic, that have not yet been recorded.

The ensemble PROTESTRA, which supports grassroots actions through orchestral benefit concerts, is holding an event in Maplewood, New Jersey on June 20 to benefit Immigrant Aid and Defense. The concert features a new song cycle by composer Sheila Silver titled Songs of Resilience, which premieres on World Refugee Day.
The following week the ensemble presents a concert in NYC entitled “Founding Mothers” featuring contemporary and historic women composers, with ticket proceeds benefitting organizations supporting women and girls.
